Great car seat We bought this seat after my daughter outgrew her convertable seat at 4 years old. I did a ton of research on different safety aspects of booster seats and one thing that really bothered me is that all of them stopped using the 5-point harness at 40lbs. I found one made by Britax that goes to 100lbs, but it wouldn't fit in our vehicle since we have two other seats in there. Anyway, I thought I was just going to have to settle for one with a 40lb weight limit. While reading a review about the Britax seat I saw that someone suggested this seat, so I read up on it and it seemed perfect. The seat is great. It was easy to install in our vehicle, it fits with an infant seat and a convertable seat on the same row (we have a SUV), and it is very comfortable for my daughter. She really likes the seat, it makes her feel like a big girl. The cup holder is a little flimsy and we didn't even hook it on, but she hasn't had one on any of her other seats either. The straps to get twisted some, but are easy to untwist if you take the time to do it. Those are my only complaints, and they aren't even that big of a deal. If you are wanting your child to be in a 5-point harness past 40 lbs, then this is the seat for you. I know a lot of her friends are in the boosters that they just use the seat belt over them and I just don't feel that is safe enough. But then again, I'm neurotic about my kids being in the safest seats and in their seats at all times. It get's the job done. I purchsed this car seat because of the extra weight capacity in the five pont harness. My two (now almost three) year old weighs in at 37 pounds and, even though he met the weight requirements, he could no longer fit in the five point harnesses that are rated to 40 lbs. I've had the seat for almost a year. Pros: The seat is large and accomdates my son and his toys easily. Def. the five point harness weight limit. It's an attractive seat. The latch system is easy to use. PRICE! It's less than half the cost of the only other extra weight capacity five point seat out there. Cons: The arm pads come off .. and they are fun for baby to take off. Mine are gone. The cup holder is flimsy and mine broke within the first couple of months. Not much padding. Seat belt twists up and is a pain to use. Bottom line .. it's not perfect .. but if you want to keep your child in the five point harness for as long as you can .. it's a great way to go. You can't beat the price. Cons: Good seat, has some design flaws First let me state that overall this is a good choice if you want a 5 point harness with higher weight limits. If that isnt what you are looking for, go elsewhere. I am the father of a 4.5 year old boy and 18 month old twins, so I have a little expertise in installing car seats in multiple cars. We've typically bought Britax but I didn't want to spend that kind of money for 2 Britax's and I wanted the 5 point harness. The quality of this seat doesn't compare to Britax, not by a long shot. The britax's are heavier and sturdier. The install is such a hassle on this. The tether strap tightening system is not easy at all and I cannot get a really tight tether on this seat in my Honda Odyssey. The latch system is impossible to use, as the only way to get the belt to tighten is to pull the strap in the path and direction of the lap seat belt, which is obstructed by the seat. The Britax seats only require you to pull up, and in this case, its straight up while applying some pressure with your knee to the seat. I have resorted to using a mighty tite and the seatbelt but I for the life of me cannot get a tight fit. I also noticed that the portion of the seat that comes in contact with the carseat is made of flexible and thin plastic. This is where the downward forces are exerted on the seat, and as you tighten the car seat to the vehicle's seat it causes this plastic to bow outward. I have contacted Dorel about this and they are replacing the seat, but only AFTER I have returned my original seat. Am I supposed to lap my child in the meantime? If you never plan on removing the seat or switching vehicles, get the tightest fit you can (and hope you dont bend the underside supports) and leave it. The whole crotch strap not being long enough is true! I ordered my replacement and got it, but I understand there's a considerable backorder on this item. Avoid this seat for its flaws. You'll need a PHD and a year's personal trainer to get a tight fit.

My Ride 65 Car Seat - Flair
From Graco

To help ensure your baby is protected as he grows, go convertible.  The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends your child ride rear-facing and stay harnessed as long as possible.  Our side-impact tested My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seat stays rear-facing up to 40 lbs and secures your child forward-facing in a 5-point harness until they are 65 lbs.
Amazon Sales Rank: #21986 in Baby Product Color: purple/gray Brand: Graco Model: 1757837

Disappointed We are committed to keeping our son rear facing as long as possible (for more information visit the Kyle David Miller Foundation online), so when he hit the 33lb rear facing limit on his Britax Marathon we were delighted to find the My Ride with its higher 40lb rear facing limit. The day after he weighed in at 33lbs we went and bought the My Ride and set about installing it and giving it a try. We have a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country and were installing in the captains chair, an easy install with most seats thanks to the amount of room and availability of latch, but we were unable to get this seat installed firmly rear facing (with less than 1 inch movement at the head). Unlike the Britax, which has 2 latch straps and buckles--one for each side of the carseat--the My Ride has a single latch strap (with two buckles on it) that runs underneath the seat. This seemed like a good idea, except that no matter how hard we pulled to tighten the single strap the seat seemed to slide around a little on it. Two points of attach and adjustment (on the seat) seems more secure than one. This loose fit is my biggest complaint, but not my only with regards to safety. We also found the harness difficult to tighten over our son (who is 33lbs) to an acceptable point. This is NOT standard to all rear facing seats--it was never a problem with our Britax. Safety is our number one concern, and no seat, no matter the safety rating, can be considered safe in your car if a successful install cannot be achieved, so we returned the seat after a few days trial. Some additional thoughts, related more to quality than safety: like stated in another review, this is a bulky seat, from front to back, side to side, and top to bottom (seat height)--it was difficult for my son to climb into and out of. It also has a pretty steep recline, which is safe for rear facing, but I can't imagine my 50lb forward facing child wishing to remain reclining that far, so I fear that the seat would have become obsolete before the weight limit. The cover on this seat has no elastic on the sides, and every time my son pulled on one of the cup holders (the cup holders themselves are only loosely set into the seat, not latched or clicked in) the seat cover pulled off the arm of the seat as well. Lastly, the seat is very deep which means that there wasn't a lot of room for my son to cross his legs and it was hard for him to get comfortable, which was not a problem still rear facing in the Britax Marathon because it had low sides on the lower seat allowing more room for his legs. Ultimately, the idea of this seat is an excellent one. Keeping your small child rear facing is the safest choice you can make, and this seat, for a low price, will allow you to do this, but a proper install and proper use are necessary for this to be true, and the My Ride, with its single latch strap, does not make this easy. Be sure to have a certified safety technician check the install (look online for local car seat safety check points in your area). If you cannot get a safe install with Graco don't give up--look at the Sunshine Kids Radian seats or Safety First Complete Air. Rear facing is safest. For more information and seat recommendations visit the Kyle David Miller Foundation online. Great for nappers!! The main reason I started looking for a new car seat was to find one that waould support my daughter better because she is an "Instant Car Napper", from the second you pull out of the drive. Her other seat was just not supporting her head and the sides were not snug around her either. We went to Target and tried out all the seats and found this one in the Blue. I figured they had to have a pink one and that is when I found it on the internet here. We really like it. Adjusting the straps are a breeze and it is perfect if you have a napper like I do. The head supports come out a bit farther than regular seats do and there is so much cushioning, I am jealous! Two cup holders, 1 for a drink and one to put snacks in or for the other child sitting next to her to use it, are nice. Cover comes off good. By far the best out of about 8 car seats we have owned over the years through many kids. The latech system works great in the H3 Hummer that we have. The seats sits up a little higher than I would like in it, but she loves to be able to look out and round in it, so It works great for her. I recommend this seat over any of the others. To try it out before buying, they sell the basic baby blue one at Target. You can get the pink, blue, black or purple one online though, thru here or at [...]also. If you try them out first, YOU WILL SEE HOW BIG A DIFFERENCE THERE REALLY IS! Good seat, good bargain I bought this carseat for my daughter because we already had a Graco My Ride 65 in our other car and we had no complaints at all about it. Add to that the fact that it's much cheaper than almost any other comparable carseat out there, and it was a no brainer. Plus this particular seat, the "Flair", that I bought from Amazon has cute, girly fabric. My daughter seems to really like her carseat and I love the fact that it rear faces to 45 lbs and forward faces to 65 lbs. The fabric is easy to clean, it is easy enough to get her in and out of the seat, and the cupholders are handy. My only complaint is that it's huge and sits really high, so it just BARELY fits in the middle of the backseat of our mid-sized car. It does NOT fit behind either of the front seats (and we're both on the short side so our seats are almost all the way forward). But from what I found when I shopped for carseats the first time around, that's pretty much the case with any brand. They're all huge. I would recommend this carseat to anyone in the market for one.

Had to Buy Another One I have 2 Italian Greyhounds; one is still a puppy. They both love the seat and often will be in it at the same time. We ended up purchasing another so that both dogs could have their own. It's really nice because they can ride in comfort laying down and having the windows open (and getting air vs. laying on the seat), and still be able to see outside. I can feed them treats and keep their car toys right be them. Great product and it arrived a day early.

Sturdy and safe, but not used with stroller We were so relieved that we were able to buy this product at last despite the lengthy delays prior to its release. It should be noted that once the seat becomes forward-facing, the famous "docking" car seat base, needed for the Orbit infant car seat, is not used at all. This went against my expectation of the Orbit system "growing with your baby". We had put off buying a forward-facing car seat, despite my child's discomfort with her legs significantly hanging over, as I had thought we would still use the base, so I feel a tad misled. This would have been less of an issue if the seat had been available towards the end of 2007 as was originally promoted. Anyhow now that we have it in our car, our toddler enjoys being in her seat and the elevated position helps with her ability to see more out the window (which is helpful in keeping her entertained with the passing view and therefore less temper tantrum prone!) It is well constructed as well as fairly easy to put together and install. Our only gripe is, similar to the Orbit infant car seat (but worse), the seat belts get tangled very easily. Given the earlier reviewers raves about Orbit's customer service, I'll be contacting them this week to see if they can help us resolve this recurring issue. We have not used it as a stroller seat (as advertised) because the forward-facing seat does not use the patented dock, and thus the convenience of being able to rotate the seat off the dock and into the stroller (like the infant car seat) is not available. For us, it is easier and faster to take her out into a more compact stroller, such as the Maclaren Techno Sport, rather than re-do all the seat-belt anchors when we return to our car. Sturdy system, depite few glitches I'm overall really pleased with the orbit toddler system My child has grown with the entire Orbit line ... he started with infant carseat and stroller, and now is in the toddler carseat. We still use the carseat with the stroller, but also have the toddler stroller seat for more convenience. The positives: The toddler carseat, when docked for rear facing, or when using the braces and latch belts for forward facing, is very very sturdy -- a lot sturdier than other systems I have tested. My son is comfortable and has no problem sleeping in it, and the upholstery is easy to remove and clean. The drawbacks: If you need to put the toddler seat in forward facing, you do not need the base, in which case you need some sort of hook to attach the anchor down in the back behind the seat. I have an old Honda Civic that doesn't have a latch system or hook. So while the shoulder/lap seatbelt anchor the toddler seat against the chair, I worry that if I am rear-ended in an accident, the carseat would move forward too much because I don't have any place to anchor the seat down in the back. So for now, in this car, we have no choice but to place our son sitting only in a rear-facing position where we use the base. In a small car like a Civic, having the seat in a rear facing position can make it difficult to see out the back. Which brings me to the next drawback ... in the rear facing position in my old Civic, I can't use the sun shade because it would block my view while driving. This isn't normally a big deal, but I did have to buy one of those mesh window shades -- after a super hot day and long drive when I realized my son got sunburned through the window because I didn't have the carseat shade up. All of the above drawbacks are not a problem in our other car, which is bigger, has the latch system/hook system, and is big enough to see over the carseat while driving. It's just when the seat is installed in my Civic (that doesn't have a latch system) that it's a problem. Finally, I agree with the earlier review that the seatbelts do get tangled, which seems to bother my husband a lot when he's trying to buckle our son in. I generally don't have a problem untwisting the belts. I do take my son in and out of the car in the toddler car seat and dock it on the stroller. It's admittedly heavy to lift in and out of the car with him in it, but sometimes it's just easier to move him while he's already strapped in than to unbuckle him and put him into some other stroller or backpack. So, I'm really happy about it still working with the stroller. we love it! We don't have the stroller, only two toddler car seats for our twins and we are completely satisfied! They are safe and sturdy, the fabric is very soft, and our boys are comfortable riding in them - they love to look outside enjoying the scenery - it relaxes and puts them to sleep easily - giving us peace of mind driving with two calm babies in the back! In our case the seats are fixed in the car - taking the children out of them each time is not a big deal for us - we would have to keep doing it anyways... We hope Orbit Baby will release a system for multiples soon!

Buckle strap too short I shopped for a long time to find a good price on this car seat as everyone seemed to agree that it was the safest one out there. The buckle strap is so short that when buckled, the clips are down between my daughter's legs forcing her to hold them far apart. It made red marks on her inner thighs. My daughter is only 19 pounds, so this is not because she has gotten too big for the seat. I called Britax and they told me that they have heard from others that this model has too short a strap and there is nothing to be done. I give it one star because this flaw made the seat useless to me and now I have to pay return shipping - which I imagine is going to be pricey. I love it! I bought this car seat for my 18 month-old son who has down syndrome. He is on the smaller size and this has so much suppport! The boulevard is big, but I have an Accord and there is still plenty of room for 2 additional car seats. We had the Roundabout for my older son, but this is by far a better product if your looking for support and comfort. Great Seat! Just bought this--our second Britax Boulevard car seat. We needed a seat for Grandma's car. I couldn't believe the $229 price on this, our first one was $300! I thought maybe it was a close out, but the seat was manufactured in August 2008. Babyage delivered it in two days! Our daughter is 28 inches and 20 lbs at 7 months old. After about 5 months she was too big for her infant seat. This seat is perfect for her, comfortable, and we love the fact we can keep her rear-facing until 35 lbs. It is super easy to adjust the harness - no need to rethread and it is easy to install with the latch. Grandma's car didn't have the latch, so we had to use the seat belt - took a little bit longer but not too difficult to do.

Maxi Cosi Rodi Belt-positioning Booster, Enzo
From Maxi-Cosi

The Rodi has a removable, washable fabric pad for ease of cleaning and a padded headrest with deep sided wings for added comfort and support for your child.
simple & sporty really love this booster seat ~ it's simple, sporty & has a beautiful contemporary look. i'm very much not into flowery things and sometimes when searching for infant/toddler items it's not easy to find things that look a little more grown up. my son is very tall and he loves the headrest ~ very easy to adjust. he can easily maneuver in & out and in fact, handles the whole thing himself now. a real relief. great Great booster. Nice fabric and color. The side are great on the headrest if your child falls asleep in the car. The top comes off the base so you can use only the base piece when your child is older. Tips over easily I bought two of these for my son - he insisted on a seat that looked good. At the same time, I bought my daughter 2 Graco Turbo Boosters. I do not like these seats. First, the arm rests are not adjustable and since they're so low it's difficult to get the seatbelt under the arms appropriately. But the worst feature is that the seat is too narrow. My son leans over to pick something up, the seat tips. We drive around a curve, the seat tips. I got so tired of telling my son to 'sit up straight' because the seat was leaning that I went and bought him 2 Graco Turbo Boosters. SO MUCH BETTER! No more leaning seats every time he moves an inch. The ONLY thing I would recommend this seat for was if it was going to be in between two other carseats or boosters - they would help keep the seat in place better.

WONDERFUL CAR SEAT... BEST ON MARKET! I absolutly love this car seat. My son seems very comfortable and I love how easily it reclines, as we take many a trip... and he falls asleep, we just recline it and his little head doesn't fall forward! I love the material, so soft and everything easily washes right off. Easy to buckle him in it and as for "Hard to install" I have 2 boys now who have gone through car seats (many) and I've never ever came across a car seat that wasn't "Hard to install!" They're all hard to get in that first time.. but this one was just fine, and very safe! I can't tell you how much i love it, and it looks so cute in our red truck! :P I've gotten so many compliments on it and I sent in a picture in the photo section! All-in-all obviously I think it's a great buy and worth every penny! Fabulous car seat We LOVE this car seat. We bought the infant seat and loved that one as well. This chair fits in United's small seats on flights, as well as our older Euro cars. We live in Europe and had a lot of seats to choose from, US and European. This seat is far and away the best buy and wonderful quality. Our son gets to see out the windows of the car, he is comfortable for our long flights back to the states. The padding on the seat is very comfortable. The one glitch is that it does not work with most carseat travel systems for getting through the airport. I often have to travel without my husband. So I bought a small travel folding luggage cart, like people use for other carry on luggage and strapped it on. That worked so well, when we landed after an 11 hour flight, my son was still asleep. I put the chair on the cart, secured the straps and wheeled him off the plane and through customs. Good thing as the stroller I gate checked did not arrive, yet again. We are now buying a second one for my husbands car, after looking again at all the options we could not be happier! Nice but... We originally purchased the Britax Marathon but sadly it was way to big to rear face in our compact car. After going back and for the between weather to buy the Priori or another smaller Britax we decided to go with the Priori because of it's fun colors and I guess just to try something new. Now I am pretty much wishing we had gone with the Britax. The Priori is nice and has the latch system which is wonderful but the safety harness twists easily, the crotch pad is tiny and just gets in the way, the buckle is not always easy to latch and getting the cover off to wash is a real pain... I pretty much had to take the whole darn thing apart. On the upside it is a great size for compact cars, the color variety is fun and it has a cup holder to set the sippy cup in. All and all though I wish we had just gone with the smaller Britax (Roundabout or Diplomat).

Safeguard Booster Seat in Brown
From Safeguard

The SafeGuard is a soft back booster car seat that provides a fantastic solution to problems that plague on-the-go parents and caretakers. The Safeguard is extremely compact, installs with full LATCH restraints in less than one minute, AND has a 5-point harness in addition to functioning as a belt-positioning booster.

Works good, but head rest is not good We bought this booster for our 3 year old daughter based on information in the Toddler Bargains book. I really like how easy it is to install and adjust, but am disappointed in the headrest. One of the points I was excited about with this seat was that it had side parts for a head rest when my daughter fell asleep in the car. However, in real-life I've found that they don't work. She starts off leaning on them as she doses off, but once she is asleep, her head lolls forward and rests on her chest and/or shoulder. I think they are not big enough or in a bad position. We have to recline her whole seat to almost a 45 degree angle to get her head to stay back and rest on the head rest. Also, the black "cushion" that goes behind the head is a tiny cushion that just attaches to itself through the strap with Velcro. It is easy to lose, easy to forget to install, and attracts hair. This could've been designed much better. Overall a good seat - but don't buy it over another booster just for the headrest option.

Uncomfortable! I thought this car seat looked like something I, myself would like to curl up into and go to sleep. When we got this out of the box it was really nice looking and it was not too hard to put together. Then I sat my 21 month old little girl into it. She could not even sit up straight. The whole top of the seat which looks so nice and safe is actually leaning forward just enough that it was impossible for her to sit with a straight back. I thought well maybe she is too little and it would be better suited for an older child. So, I put my older daughter, 5 years, into it and asked her what she thought. She told me she felt like her head and shoulders were leaning forward. Well, I really wanted to see how my little one would do with this car seat when falling asleep, so I let her watch a movie while sitting in it. Her head feel right to her chest she could not even lean her head to the side. Since this discovery we have returned the seat and I kept looking for quite a while to find a seat that would fit her just right. We ended up with the Evenflo Triumph. She loves it and I do too! Look for something else! I install about 800 different car seats over the course of each summer for my job - and this is the first seat to ever prompt me to write reviews. If you must install it without the LATCH system, it is absolutely terrible. You will want to throw it off a cliff after attempting to get it in tightly - and it just never feels completely secure. Further, the base and cup holders are so enormous - and not removable - that fitting it next to another child in a seat is very difficult. I have read one review where the LATCH system made it work well, but that is the only one I've seen so far. Don't waste time on this! It has frustrated me beyond belief! Very UNCOMFORTABLE, the worst! I did a ton of research to find the right seat for my boy. He is 23 months old and was outgrowing his Britax Roundabout and nearly his Britax Marathon, hitting his head on the roof of the cars. We ordered this hoping for the best and considering the reviews we felt we had made the right decision. WRONG! As soon as it arrived, I set it up and it sat so upright that my son's head was leaning forward. I attempted to adjust the angle, placing a towel under the front, anything to no avail. The pillow was way too overstuffed to be comfortable, as well. I put it right into the box and sent it back the same day. We tried again and bought the Eddie Bauer Summit adjustable booster (22-862) and LOVE IT!!! It has everything and more: 5 pt. harness, 3 adjustable reclines, pivoting armrests and a low profile. We have since bought two more for Daddy's car and Grandma's too! Stay away from the Bryant, definitely go for the Summit collection.

Britax Frontier Booster Car Seat
From Britax USA

If your child is out growing their car seat quickly fortunately Britax has the solution for you! And it's the best in its class. The Britax Frontier is a forward facing seat that has a tangle free five point harness and a weight capacity of up to 80 lbs.

The Britax Frontier Harness-2-Booster boasts best-in-class forward-facing five-point harnessed weight capacity up to 80 pounds and also serves as a vehicle belt-positioning booster up to 100 pounds. Featuring True Side Impact Protection with one-hand adjustable harness height system, Versa-Tether and engineered energy management zones, the Frontier is designed to be the safest high capacity seat in the industry: it was designed to be a Britax. Loaded with comfort and convenience features, such as comfort foam, dual cup holders and armrests, the Frontier is the ideal seat for the child graduating from their convertible car seat without compromising safety.
Great seat w/ 80 pound 5-point Harness! I am a certified passenger safety seat technician as well as a police officer who works in the field of traffic enforcement/safety. There a couple of things I want you to know when/if you purchase this new product so that you can have a far easier time installing it- and so you can install it correctly. First, the instruction booklet is permanantly attached to the seat w/ a cord. Simply tuck it behind the cover to stow it. Britax has the manual available online in a PDF if you would like to sit and review it without having to crouch down and read the book attached to your seat. Second, when you go to tighten the LATCH straps at each lower anchor, the seat is designed for you to pull these tight through the spaces in the seat shell itself (simply move the cover to the side and you will see where the back of the seat shell has a hole on each side so you can EASILY pull the LATCH webbing tight on each side). If you try to tighten these LATCH straps outside and behind the shell of the seat- YOU WILL NEVER GET IT TIGHT AND THEREFORE IT WILL NOT BE OPTIMALLY INSTALLED. Please contact your local hospital, poice department, fire department, or Safe Kids Coalition (www.safekidsworldwide.org) for a referral to a free child passenger seat fitting station in your community if you have concerns or questions. Even if you don't have questions, it is a good idea to take your car, seat, and kiddo to one of these fitting stations to make sure you have a good installation AND good use/fit for your kids. Finally, this seat is remarkable becuase the 5-point harnes straps are rated to a child of 80 pounds AND it converts to a booster seat for kids heavier or who otherwise won't fit in the harness. The seat is rated for 9 years (the longest manufacturer rating I have seen). And, unlike other Britax products, it is more narrow and therefore can fit in more applications than other Britax products (known for being BIG). My kids had their first run in the seats today (I installed them last night) and we have thumbs up from both on the comfort and the fashion while I give it a thumbs up for safety/design and installation!! melissa Pleae check the height of the shoulder straps before buying this item! it will hold your child in a 5 point harness up to 80 lbs, but your child will outgrow the short straps 18 inch max from rump to shoulder (2 inches shorter then the Regent!) way before they hit 80 lbs! my 2 40 lb kids are already at 17, and 18 inches so they would have to use is as a booster. Saved our daughter's life! We bought this car seat two weeks ago after reading all the reviews. We did have to teether the car seat (using the long way, not short), as our daughter is over 40 pounds, and therefore LATCH is not recommended. Well, my husband didn't think it was necessary to purchase such an expensive carseat, especially when you can buy a $20 booster seat instead. I insisted that we keep our daughter in a 5 point harness until she is 80 pounds. The frontier is one of the few carseats that can do that. Well, just last weekend we were in a terrible, violent car crash. Her britex frontier car seat did not budge from its location. She was safe and secure, and no harm came to her. The necks guards were great as they kept her head from being slammed around. Since the accident, we have had to get rid of all of our car seats (due to the accident guidelines). We bought three new carseats (ALL BRITAX FRONTIER) for all our kids. This car seat is absolutely worth every penny. It saved our daughter's life!

About Graco In 1942, Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed Graco Metal Products, in Philadelphia, PA. For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and car parts for local manufacturers. In 1953, Gray left the firm, leaving Cone as sole owner. Cone decided to manufacture his own line of products, but had trouble coming up with ideas. Enter David Saint, an engineer, tinkerer, and stained glass artisan who worked for Graco. Saint, himself a father of nine, was intrigued when an associate told him how his wife would soothe their tired and cranky baby while swinging in a backyard glider swing. Acting on this inspiration, he went to the drawing board and 18 months of hard work later, the world's first wind-up infant swing, the Graco Swyngomatic, was born. Graco sold millions of Swyngomatics in the coming years, becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of juvenile products in the process. Today, Graco is a Newell Rubbermaid company, with 1500 associates worldwide. While a half-century has brought many changes to Graco, their dedication and commitment to designing and manufacturing top-quality products remains, and continues on. Consumer Reports Gave it a 82 the Highest Review! I am very happy with this purchase. I am a Britax Mommy and have been since my son was born but just so happened to check Consumer Reports before I purchased his "Big Boy" seat and was glad I did. They gave this seat the following review: Over all score 82 (the highest of any booster seat) Graco TurboBooster 8493 TurboBooster SafeSeat (Step 3) 8496 $50, TurboBooster SafeSeat (Step 3) 8497 $50,TurboBooster SafeSeat (Step 3) 8498 $50,TurboBooster SafeSeat (Step 3) 8673 $60,TurboBooster SafeSeat (Step 3) 8674 $70 This seat is actually several models but this one that I purchased allows for the back of the seat to detach when they are older and no longer need the back. It also comes with a neck pillow. Unfortunately I did not get this in my box and simply called GRACO and they sent one right out to me. Excellent customer service! My son is not yet 3 years old but exceeds the mandatory weight and height limits to use the seat. He is not a large child but fits perfectly in it. I have posted his photo in the seat so that you can judge for yourself on the sizing. From one Britax mother to another don't spend the extra money on the name. Britax did not even make the Consumer Reports list. I am pleased and I am also very concerned with my son's safety that is why I always purchased Britax. This time GRACO came out tops! As far as my son being comfortable he is able to be free in his seat and still be safe. He can reach his toys and he can also nap comfortably. He dies not complain at all now that we have the new seat. I personally made a wise decision. The seat also fits great in my Xterra and both cup holders on the seat can be pulled out with east for snacks and drinks. I am however worried about cleaning them when they get dirty. It looks as if it will be a tedious job. This does NOT have side pillows Overall this is good seat. It is light weight and seems pretty sturdy. However, the turbobooster comes in many models, of which it is difficult to tell the subtle differences. I bought this one because the description says it comes with the Gracopedic luxury foam on the seat and padded side pillows. But contrary to the item description, this does not come with the side pillows. Babies R Us offers similar models with both the upgraded seat and side pillows--they are called Abbey or Roanoke. This is the only model that comes with the neck pillow. Perfect! This seat is so easy to put together, place in the vehicle and strap a child in to, it is definitely worth every penny. Safety ratings on this seat are great. It is also convenient that, when the child is old enough to move on to a booster without a backrest, the backrest is removable. Our daughter loves the cupholders for snacks and drinks. She also loves that she can climb in and out of the seat by herself, which is good for her self-confidence as she grows up. We use this seat between 2 cars and it is easily removed and replaced with a simple slide of the seat belt. The seat is even color-coded to show where the belt should be placed across the shoulder and the waist. Definitely a great product.

LATCH: Lower Anchors and Tethers for Child Restraints
From Safe Ride News Publications, Seattle, WA

If you are a CPS technician the 09 is available This manual which is a technical publication for Child Passenger Technicians, as been revised and updated twice, since the green cover (2005 edition). I would strongly suggest you do not purchase the green LATCH manual for any technical use, as the information is not the most current. This manual should not be used at car seat checks, and cannot be used for CEU's. The 2009 should be what you are using. Some retro fit kit numbers may have changed since this edition. (Especially Ford). More information on the LATCH manual can be found on Safe Ride New's web site. Nancy

Safety 1st Apex 65 Booster Car Seat
From Dorel Juvenile Group

Keep family travel safe with the help of this quality child car seat designed for children from 22 to 100 pounds.
Amazon Sales Rank: #7289 in Baby Product Color: Calder Brand: Safety 1st Model: 22535CDE Released on: 2007-07-30 Dimensions: 28.40" h x 21.60" w x 20.60" l, 17.25 pounds
The Safety 1st Apexx 65 Deluxe high back belt-positioning booster is the children 22-100 pounds. Use the 5-point harness system up to 65 pounds.
Great seat for growing children! When my daughter was 2, I spent weeks researching the perfect seat for her. Unfortunately, most booster seats have harnesses with a 40 lb weight restriction, and I knew by the time was hit 40 lbs (under 4 y/o) she wouldn't be big enough to sit still with only a seatbelt. I wanted something safe that would last a few years. When my son turned 2, I again researched the perfect seat for weeks, and again bought the Apex 65, since my now 4 y/o daughter still loves hers. For the research I did, I found: Harnesses - The Apex 65 is rated for children up to 65 lbs. Many children are not ready to sit still in a seatbelt by the time they're 40 lbs. If a child falls asleep and is tipping in the seat, than it is not working properly. Harness height - The apex has 4 slots for harnesses (the highest is hidden under the headrest). I believe it is one of the tallest seats out there. From the seat to the top harness is 17.25 inches, compared to 3-in-1 seats such as the Eddie Bauer with a height of 14 inches. When forward facing, the harnesses must be above a child's shoulders. My daughter, at 36 inches, is still below the 3rd slot, so she has space to move up. I believe only the Britax Marathon (for twice the price) has a higher harness, at 18 inches. Adjustable headrest - There is a lock in the back allowing the headrest to move up and down. Nice feature for a growing child. Non-twisting straps - Need I say more? Adjustable crotch strap - Both children fit easily with the furthest slot out - one in diapers, one not. I can see the complaint about the leg clasp, but my children never had an issue with it. Belt positioning booster - This chair converts to a belt positioning booster when the child is old enough for it. Simply remove the harnesses, and it works well. Ease of installation - If you're using LATCH and Tether (standard on most cars after 2000), you can attach anchors into the seat of the car (feel near the seatbelts within the seat) and the tether strap (usually on a rear dashoard or back of the seat). I found installing this seat to be EXTREMELY easy - click it in and pull the strap to tighten. Although the installation is similar to most car seats, I found it much easier than the 2 Gracos I previously owned. Please remember, this is a forward facing seat only. Rear facing minimums state 1 year AND 20 lbs (not one or the other), but it is safest to keep your child rear-facing as long as possible. If he/ she fits that way until 30 lbs, that is the safest way for them. Don't forget - no matter what the state law is, it's important to keep a child in a carseat (harnessed) until they are old enough to sit properly with a seatbelt (no leaning over or unbuckling), and in a seatbelt until they are large enough that when they sit, their knees bend down at the seat edge, not point out. The seatbelt should cross their shoulder, not their neck, and their lap, not their stomach. Safety 1st Apex is a great seat! Definitely look into this one! My children love this seat and so do I. I have a Britax Wizard and this car seat installed in my Honday Odyssey and my two children fight over who gets to sit in this Apex 65 car seat. It is big and roomy and has just enough cushioning. It has all of the same safety features of the britax that sits next to it. Both have 5 point harnesses above and beyond 40 pounds and side impact protection. The difference? This one costs half the price, my kids like it better and so do I. It seems easier to get them into and out of it. I also think that they are not going to outgrow this one as fast as they will the britax - as it is much narrower and the crotch strap is shorter. OK, but I'm hoping for better I got this for my 4 yr old, with the desire to keep her in a 5-point as long as possible. I give it 3 stars for the fact that it does that, but it does have enough problems that I'm going to try the Graco Nautilus for our other car. The crotch strap is way too short, and the longer one they sent (for free without any problems at all) did not seem a whole lot longer. The buckle seems very uncomfortable. Also, I had read complaints about twisiting straps but didn't really believe that could be a very big deal. It is. The strap material feels very thin and I have to untwist it pretty much every time my daughter gets in. Safe, but like I said, I'm hoping for better with the Nautilus.

Cosco Scenera Convertible Car Seat Daisy Daze
From Cosco Inc

Parent's will love the Cosco Scenera Convertible Car Seat because of its versatile harness systems!
Amazon Sales Rank: #9804 in Baby Product Color: Daisy Daze Brand: Cosco Model: 22162DDZ Released on: 2008-01-15 Dimensions: 26.50" h x 17.50" w x 17.00" l, 10.00 pounds
The Cosco Juvenile Scenera Convertible Car Seat is rear facing from 5 to 35 pounds and front facing from 22 to 40 pounds. This car seat has a five-point harness with up-front harness adjustment to keep your child secure. It has a detachable cup holder and up-front harness adjustment.
Very safe! The number one important feature of any car seat should be the SAFETY RATING! We checked Consumer Reports before buying our car seat and this car seat was the ONLY convertible car seat that was rated "excellent" for crash protection. Safer than Britax, Graco, First Years, Combi, etc. I was quite surprised that it was rated so safe considering the fact that it really is a bare bones car seat. It's not very soft & cushiony (but hey, neither is our daughter's papasan swing and she's been napping comfortably in that thing for 7 months!) and it was a little more difficult to install than the car seat that we're using in our other car (the Combi Coccoro). But seriously, who cares, it's all about safety and this car seat is safe. Just make sure when you're installing it backwards to keep the level line horizontal and it will help you install easier; if the line's not level the seat will be moving around way too much. Half the Price At WalMart I love this care seat love the fabric and everything else about it, but you can find this same seat at Wal-Mart for 44.00!!!!!!!!!!! Cute and Safe I only recently became aware of the trend toward extending rear-facing past one year. I've had 3 kids and this is the first convertible car seat I've ever bought. Usually I go straight from the infant seat to a forward facing only seat at age one. I bought this seat for my one year old after she outgrew the infant carrier. It is soo cute and fits very securely in my car, doesn't wiggle much at all. For rear-facing, you have to put it in the reclined position, but it is still pretty much sitting completely upright. It is actually less reclined than my infant seat was. this would be great for someone with a small car who doesn't have room for a big seat. I have heard of people who can't rear-face because they have to scoot their front seat up too far to fit a rear-facing convertible seat in back. this seat would probably work for them as it takes up less room than an infant seat. On the down side, I have a mini-van and would have room for a seat that reclines more. I think my daughter would have more room that way and it would be easier to get her in and out. All in all, a great seat for the price. By the way, I got my at Wal-Mart for 40-some dollars.

Evenflo Big Kid AMP No Back Booster Car Seat
From Evenflo

Brand: Evenflo Model: Big Kid AMP No BackBooster CarSeatPARENT Released on: 2009-02-01 Dimensions: 10.75" h x 15.62" w x 16.37" l, 5.00 pounds
The Big Kid No Back Booster with its fresh and vibrant colors will excite your child about their new car seat. With its comfortable, easy cleaning seat pad and soft touch armrests the no back provides both comfort and convenience for your child. The flexible grip cup holders accommodate drinks of various shapes and sizes, while ensuring that the drink is always within reach. Thick, exclusive comfort touch seat padding provides extra comfort on long car rides. The seat is designed for use with the vehicle auto belt and can accommodate occupants in the 40-100 pounds weight range and a height of up to 57".
Great seat Bought for my grandaughter, used in my Jeep Liberty, great new slender style fits better than other bulky boosters. Cup holder expands with elastic to hold bigger/odd shaped water bottles and/or drinks. Would buy again for other grandaughter. Evenflo Big Kid AMP No Back Booster Car Seat I purchased this booster seat for my 7 year old who has to start riding in a booster again due to the upcoming law change on Sept 1st. We chose this seat because of the thick padding. No other booster seat comes close to being this soft. The drink holder is great but may not stand the test of time, we will see. We test drove this seat for a couple of weeks and she is in love. Just ordered her another so we can have one in each car. Perfect booster for older kids. Great booster at a great price My almost 4 year old is over 40 lbs. so it was time to upgrade. He loves this seat! It's light weight so he's able to move the booster himself to a different spot in our minivan and he's able to put his seatbelt on and take it off all by himself. All of this makes him feel like a big boy. Also, he's mature enough to listen when we say he must never take the seat belt off while the car is moving. Keep that in mind when deciding on this type of seat. My son doesn't fall asleep in the car much anymore, so I was not concerned about having support on the sides. I would definitely not recommend these backless boosters for a child younger than 3 for that reason. I'm not a big traveler, but I can imagine using this lightweight seat on planes and rental cars, without the expense of renting or lugging a full-size, heavy car seat. We highly recommend it!

The push-button LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) connectors help secure your child on every trip. The harness also attaches quickly and easily so you won't have to worry about struggling with endless straps or complicated procedures, and convenient belt holders keep the harness to the side so you can place the child in the seat. Just one pull makes any necessary adjustments. Additionally, the harness fits snugly over the shoulders, collarbone, and hips, and the four shoulder slots allow a better fit as your child grows. HUGS for Optimum Safety and Support When it comes to safety, the Regent boasts an innovative protective design and loads of extras that give parents peace of mind on car trips. First, the patented floating HUGS (Harness Ultra Guard) system exceeds U.S. safety standards by reducing forward head movement as it gently cushions the neck and chest with soft padding--a feature that's particularly important both in the case of an accident and during nap time. Made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) and extra thick comfort foam, this system better distributes the webbing loads, reducing head movement and minimizing harness irritation on baby's neck in case of an impact. HUGS also reduces the chance of improperly positioning the chest clip. Versa-Tether for Additional Security The Regent also offers Britax's patented Versa-Tether, an anchor aid that provides additional security in the forward facing position for children weighing more than 50 pounds. The Versa-Tether fastens the top of the car seat to factory installed automobile anchor points, reducing the possibility of a head injury in the event of impact. Comfort Features for an Enjoyable Ride Riding in the car should be fun and enjoyable for your child, and the Regent offers comfort features that help make even long trips a pleasure. First, two mesh pouches and cup holders keep snacks, drinks and toys close at hand. Worth every penny! Does NOT require huge SUV. We recently switched from an Evenflo Triumph to the Britax Regent. Our daughter is 33 months old, 33 lbs and just under 40" tall. She had reached the top limits of her old seat, but being less than 3 years old just isn't ready for a traditional booster. I shopped for several weeks before finally deciding to take the plunge with this seat. My hesitation was price and size. Ultimately price is easy to overcome, as what is more precious and worth more than the life of a child? As far as size goes, it is a large seat, no question about it. However, I drive a 2006 Honda Civic Sedan and don't really see how this seat is that much larger than the other seats I was seriously considering: the Evenflo Generations (hated the flimsy arm rests and adjustable head positioner), Graco Cargo (too narrow, not much room for a growing toddler), and the Recaro Young Sport (head wings were too big). This seat is installed in the backseat on the passenger side. It DOES indeed fit in my car and does NOT obstruct my view out the back window. In fact, the top of this seat is actually lower than the rear headrests are in their lowest position. It does take up the majority of one side of the backseat. We are only a three person family, so I do not have to consider space in my car for additional carseats. There is still plenty of space for one additional backseat passenger and the person riding in front of where the Britax is installed can still ride in relative comfort. I will take some pictures and post them for others to see. My daughter seems to really enjoy riding in this seat - I think her only complaint would be that it rides lower in the car and makes it a little harder for her to see out the side windows. As quickly as she is growing, I don't think that will be an issue for long. She often nods off in her seat and the side is just deep enough to allow her to do so without her head flopping all over the place. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend this seat to anyone who asked! Great Seat for Tall Children and Worth the Money! My son has grown so fast. He has outgrown the Britax Roundabout and our Cosco Alpha Omega and is now in a Britax Marathon (in daddy's truck) and the Britax Regent in my car. I thought that the Regent would be huge. It really isn't any taller and only slightly wider than the Marathon. I love the fact that my 2 1/2 yr old that is now 40in and 33lbs can still be in a 5 pt harness. The weight was never an issue for us it was the height that made him outgrow all of his seats so quickly. Since the Marathon goes to 49" and the Regent to 53" and they are the same price we thought we better be safe and go with the taller seat. The new Cosco seat out on the market also has a 5pt harness up to 65lbs and is half the price but you have to be careful about the way car seat companies label their packages and market their products. Most companies use the max height as a booster on the packaging and you don't find out until you have it at home and have read the instruction booklet that the height on the 5pt harness use is several inches smaller. Several more reasons we went with the Britax Regent as opposed to the Cosco products (lancer & apex)... We own a Cosco Alpha Omega. So far it is the ONLY baby item that I am giving away instead of storing until we have a 2nd child. My parents, my husband and myself all hated this seat. The harness was such a pain to keep from twisting and the buckle is torturous with a squirmy child. You have to interlock the 2 top pieces and then put that into the crotch buckle. If you use it enough you can get pretty good at it but with the other Britax seats that we owned nobody wanted to. Britax seats are a dream to install - Latch connectors a breeze and belt lock off clips for use when you don't have latch made installation a great experience. My Roundabout was bought pre HUGS system and I still had no problems with the harness twisting. And Britax includes a PERMA-BOOK -which is really just an extra instruction book that is always attached so you never have to worry that a caregiver will not know the correct way to install your childs seat and when you wash the cover you will always have instructions handy for putting it back together. 5 Point Harness for over 40 pounds This is the only decent car seat I could find that uses the 5 point harness for children OVER 40 Pounds. My 2 1/2 year old is not mature enough to sit with a booster and seat belt yet, although she is 44 lbs and 40" tall. The Britax Regent seat only offers the 5 point harness system, but it can be used for children up to 80 pounds. It does not have a seat belt positioner but I don't see this as a problem since i feel the 5 point harness will be safer for my child, and I can't in good conscience put my child in a car with a only a seat belt holding her and some free floating booster seat in the car. Another important thing for me is that my toddler can easily get into this seat as it rests lower on the car seat verses having to lift her into the Evenflo car seat we just moved from. There are no arm rests or cup holders, but the padded seat cover does have mesh nets on each side for books or whatever. The seat cover and straps are also easy to remove for washing. Latching the seat into my car was easy and quick and adjusting the straps to fit my child was extremely simple. When my child reaches 48 pounds i will need to use the seat belt to attach the seat to my car, but that looks pretty easy and simple to do, too. Who knew my child would be well over the 100 percentile in size and I realize now that I should have bought a Britax the first time around, since most do offer the harness system up to 65 pounds.

Please ignore the one star review Please ignore the reviewer who rated the seat one star due to the rebound issue. I am a certified child passenger safety technician and this is NOT a safety concern. Almost all rear facing seats will rebound in a crash. The only ones that won't are infant seats with rigid LATCH (the only one currently available in the US is the Baby Trend Latch-Loc with rigid LATCH) or one with an anti-rebound bar like the Britax Companion and convertible seats that tether rear facing (all Britax convertible seats, Sunshine Kids Radian, etc). As long as your seat moves less than an inch in any direction AT THE BELT PATH (i.e. on an infant seat with a base, right at the seat crack where the other poster said it was tight) it is safe. The Chicco KeyFit is a very good seat. It is without a doubt one of the best on the market currently. It installs like a dream and fits small babies very well. As a tech of seven years, I would not hesitate to recommend this seat or use it for my own child. Great Car Seat Base This chicco car seat base is so easy to use. We already had the car seat and base for my wife's car, and we just needed the base for mine so we dont have to take it in and out. The latch is super easy (cars 2002 and newer) it tightens easy with one pull, and seat belts on this base seem to fit exactly like they should. The base has 2 levels easy to read. The car seat clicks in when you set it in, and your done and ready to drive. This is the base for babies up to 30 lbs. Our car seat was the year prior when they only hold up to 22 lbs, but this car seat base accepts both the 22 and 30 lb. car seats perfectly. Grandparents Need Car Seat Base As first-time grandparents, we decided to get the Chicco KeyFit 30 car seat base, so that we too can transport the baby safely. We installed the base so that it's connected to the frame of the car (a simple operation), and now we just listen for the reassuring click, click to make sure the car seat is properly in place.

Graco Toddler SafeSeat Step 2 - Natalie
From Graco

The innovative Toddler SafeSeat Car Seat is one of the only toddler car seats that reclines while in use. This makes it easier to correctly install ? and it makes road trips more comfy for your little guy!

Big but sturdy We bought this carseat for our 3rd child -- our boys used an older model Graco convertible seat. I bought this one for the reclining feature, the snaps for the seatbelt and the girly pattern. This seat is enormous -- it's heavy, tall and wide. But my 12 month old daughter loved it immediately. And I was thrilled when she fell asleep in it this morning and I could easily reach back and recline it with one hand. The fasteners are improved, and the seat fits her very well (and she's on the small side for her age). I can tell it will fit her well for the next several years. I would highly recommend this carseat. I didn't give it 5 stars because it is so large -- I can't imagine it would fit well anywhere other than the middle of a large SUV.

What's in the Box Graco TurboBooster SafeSeat Youth Booster Car Seat, Step 3 (Talia). With cool, sporty features, any child is sure to feel great riding around in the TurboBooster®.

In Zurich
The Babies Love It! When we learned we were having twins, and one of each sex, at that, we discovered a dilemma: finding a fairly gender-neutral color scheme/pattern in pretty much everything we would be getting for them. Then, we took a car seat class at the hospital where we were delivering and learned what to look for in a car seat. The Graco SnugRide32 Zurich fulfilled all criteria. The sage/lime green (which later inadvertently became one of the colors of the nursury) and brown fulfilled the gender-neutral criteria, while looking pretty darned classy at the same time. I now feel like I have to dress up when I'm lugging these things around, just to pull it all together. Anyway, the features are what's important: The instructor in the car seat class stated that the American Pediatric Association recommends that an infant remain rear-facing in a car seat until 1 year of age or 30 lbs. The SnugRide32 meets this standard and then some, which was rather attractive and money-saving in the long run, as most of the other car seats we looked at had weight limits that topped out at 20-something pounds. This one rates up to 32 lbs. The SnugRide32 base also has the LATCH system feature, which makes installation a lot easier if your car was made in 2003 or later. If not, as in our case, installation is still really easy, as the base has a built-in clamp that helps hold the seat belt more tightly in place, thus keeping the whole thing locked down more securely. Also, the seat has a five-point, fully adjustable harness system that keeps baby safe and snug as a bug in a rug. Finally, it has the one feature that our instructor said was worth whatever extra it may cost--the front harness adjustor strap. You just put the little one in the seat and put his or her extremities in the harness, click the buckles into place, and pull the strap tight. That's it. No need to turn the seat around and fumble with the tightening straps on the back. With this seat, you can just strap 'em in, pull 'em tight, and go. I love efficiency. And the most important reason of all is that my babies love their car seats and could probably sit in them for days if we let them. Wonderful product. Passable seat....but could be better When we were looking for a car seat, it kind of came down to the Peg Perego or the Graco. I mean, as others have pointed out, there are really only a few manufacturers anyways and most of them are pretty similar. The Graco won out because of a handful of key points: - The Graco was significantly lighter vs. the Peg (and if you don't think so, you must be Superman...) - The mechanism to move the handle out of the way was slightly awkward on the Peg, especially for smaller hands - The Graco was A LOT cheaper. But to be honest, the Graco looks like it. Peg looks like it is a quality design. This Graco model was the best option of the Graco's, the others were so "cheap" looking and the grab handle has sharp edges so you can't hook it on your arm to carry. So after actually _using_ it, what do I think? That maybe I should have gone with the Peg. Here's why: - Even with the latch system, the base of the seat doesn't seem terribly secure. I really tugged on it to tighten the straps as much as I could, but still.... - The sitting position for baby? Not so good. Baby gets really crunched up, which may kind of seem secure, but it crunches up baby's breathing passages and also his stomach so baby tends to throw up milk if put in the seat immediately after feeding - Baby's back gets really sweaty after only short trips in the seat. This never happens in the stroller. - The should strap system is really bad design. They are _just_ too short to hang them off the side or hook them out of the way when putting baby in. It's stupid, a couple more centimetres and it would've been fine. *** Note: I just checked the Peg, and the design here is way better. It doesn't have this problem and the straps stay nicely out of the way. - Due to the crunched up sitting position, we don't actually carry baby in the carrier, so weight doesn't really matter that much. That, and as baby gets heavier, the weight of the car seat becomes less significant. *** Note: Regarding the Peg again, I had another look at one, and yes, the design is way better here too. Baby is not as crunched up. - Also, since we don't carry the car seat out any more, the mechanism to move the handle out of the way, despite not being quite as convenient, is also a moot point. It's surely an okay seat, but if you're in the market for one, I highly recommend you take a seriously look at the useability given how YOU would use it. Basically the only advantages I see are price and lightweight, both of which are negated by how I use it anyways... (Yeah, and regarding the price, the Graco looks really cheap, and not in a good way, next to the Peg). Great Carseat... I ordered this carseat for my baby when I was expecting because it just seemed the smart thing to do with babies coming into this world at 8+ lbs and 19"+ long! Well our little boy came into this world weighing 7.06 lbs and measuring 20" long! Most rear facing carseats only go up to 22 lbs and 22" long, so this was definitely a wise choice. He's only 13 days old and we have used the carseat on 3 occassions and so far so good! It's spacious enough so that he doesn't feel cramped or confined once buckled in. The downfall to that is that his head bobs a bit too much for me because the infant insert is still a little too big. We purchased an additional head support piece (not Graco) to resolve this issue. It works well... He was awake when he was placed in it the second time and he cried a bit but calmed down after he was all tucked in. The other times he was asleep and remained sleeping... The carrier is easy enough to remove from the base which is a huge plus. The colors are rich looking with a baby feel (the green), and can work for either boy or girl (I didn't know what I was having when I ordered it)...The straps are easy enough to adjust once you read the instructions. To date the carrier is not too heavy, but that may change once he puts on some pounds... Overall I love this carseat so far... If that changes I'll add to this later on.
